Printed with a photograph Sara took of the Alabama sky, The Same Sky reflects on returning to the state where she grew up and choosing to build a home there again. The piece explores the cyclical nature of leaving and returning, and how a familiar place takes on new meaning through adulthood and motherhood. It looks toward Janna’s eventual return as well, when the sisters will once again live near one another, raising their families and making a new version of home beneath the same sky.
